The Auxiliary
The SWWS Auxiliary was founded in 1977 for the express purpose of providing financial support, promotion and assistance to the symphony. The first meeting was held at the home of Lee Wollenberg with 14 founding charter members in attendance.
Over the years, the Auxiliary has provided financial support to the symphony for the conductor’s stipend, music, instruments, equipment and general financial support. Each year, the Auxiliary gives a scholarship to the selected Young Artist at the April concert to help further their music education.
The Auxiliary also provides receptions for the Young Artist Auditions and Young Artist Concerts, bouquets for the guest artists and batons for the guest conductors. See’s candy is available year round through the Auxiliary as their main fund raiser. For information and order forms, contact Sue Lane, 360-578-1357.
Auxiliary meetings are held at 10:00 am on the fourth Friday of each month, September through May, with the exception of November (third Friday) and December (no meeting). New members are always welcome. For information, contact Glenda Schuh, (360) 423-2536.
