Welcome

Welcome

We welcome you to this 45th season of concerts. Ryan Heller returns as conductor and musical director for his ninth season. The symphony orchestra is pleased to bring you the works of three Bachs, Haydn, Mozart, Brahms, Rachmaninoff, Shostakovich, Whitacre and the Beatles. Local and regional solo artists will be performing with the symphony and the student “Young Artist” will be selected by audition for the spring concert. A return performance of our outstanding local high school choirs will once again be an audience favorite.

Are you aware that about half of the symphony members are graduates or students of schools in this area? We applaud the progressive thinking of the first symphony board of directors and charter members of the symphony.

Through their vision and continued efforts, Southwest Washington Symphony has flourished, providing musical enjoyment for local musicians and patrons.Close ties to school music programs continue to this day with children’s concerts, mentor opportunities, private instruction, venue sharing and combined performances.  We invite those who are able to consider continued support of the symphony through the “Friends” and sponsor programs.

The Southwest Washington Symphony depends upon these gifts for its very existence, as ticket prices only support a portion of the budget. The symphony continues to grow musically and broaden its repertoire. We are proud to present another season for your listening enjoyment.
