Hi Kids
, this is Merry the music maker....are you ready to make music with me? I have lots of different instruments you can learn about and decide which one YOU would like to learn to play.
Learning to play a musical instrument is a lot of fun and builds many skills like teamwork, counting, rhythm
. The younger you start, the easier it is to become a great player, but it is never too late to start.
Experts say playing a musical instrument helps brains develop for short and long-term memory, dexterity of their hands, math skills (because of the repetition in music), social skills (because of the tolerance and patience learning an instrument requires), and sheer enjoyment.
Each fall, the Southwest Washington Symphony performs its annual Children’s Concerts for 2,400 fourth and fifth grade students from surrounding communities.
The information below will help you understand all about the Symphony Orchestra, the different instruments and their sounds. [created by the Nashville Symphony]
