The Southwest Washington Symphony is accepting string players (all instruments) for the upcoming 2016-2017 season.  Advanced student musicians are welcome to audition, but will be expected to participate in ongoing private instruction if accepted.

Auditions will comprise:
  1. One 3-octave scale of applicant's choice (2-octave for bass applicants)
  2. Two contrasting pieces of applicant's choice - may be orchestral excerpts, parts of solos, etudes, etc.
  3. Sight reading
2016-2017 season repertoire includes: violin soloist Jenny Oaks Baker, Copland Rodeo Suite, Mozart Symphony 38, Saint Saens Bachannale, and Orff Carmina Burana.

Southwest Washington Symphony is a group of local amateur musicians who continue to grow in their musicianship through rehearsal and practice.  Musicians interested in joining the Southwest Washington Symphony are encouraged to contact the Personnel Manager for more information, and to arrange for an audition.
